Published: Wednesday 10 June 2026
Improvements are to be made on the A726 between East Kilbride and Strathaven from next week.
The work will start on Tuesday 16 June, with the road closed daily between 8am and 8pm for up to five days to allow the works to be completed.
A diversion will be in place via: A726, A723, A72, A724, A725, A726 and vice versa
Head of Roads, Transportation and Fleet Services, Colin Park, said: “We apologise in advance for any inconvenience that may occur during these essential road works.
“We would request that all road users allow additional time for all journeys which involve the use of the A726 during the period indicated and that they plan their journey accordingly.
“We are sure everyone will appreciate the improved condition of the road when the works are complete.”
